Abstract Recently, there has been a significant increase in empirical research relating to the victimization of lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) youths in both schools and community settings. This chapter reviews the nature of victimization of LGB youths and details some of the findings of recent studies focusing upon the long-term consequences of this victimization. It also focuses on current initiatives designed to address the direct as well as the indirect effects of victimization of LGB youths. Finally, recommendations for future research on the victimization of LGB youths are presented.
