Abstract The roles that psychologists assume with primary care clinicians vary from setting to setting (Ben-dell-Estroff & Bernal, 2001). Psychologists can be integral members of the primary care practice with a full-time office on site, they can consult with primary care clinicians on a regular basis from an off-site office, or they can take referrals from pri-mary care settings for treatment in clinics or pri-vate offices. They bring a wide variety of profes-sional skills to the primary care setting in each of these roles, and one unique and important skill is psychological assessment (Rozensky, Sweet, & Tovian, 1997).
