Abstract

Abstract editor’s note: The following interviews were conducted by Marianne McDonald via telephone in November and December 1988 from a list of questions prepared by both of us. Mr. Cacoyannis and Ms. Papas then reviewed the transcripts. They appear here somewhat abridged from their earlier version in Classics and Cinema. Material unrelated to the subject of tragedy and to their films of Euripides has been omitted.
