With the rapid development of science and technology, virtual reality (VR) technology has brought revolutionary changes to the cultural industry. This paper discusses the interactive experience design of museum cultural relics based on VR technology, aiming to create an immersive experience for the audience, and further shorten the distance between the audience and the cultural relics. In the design process, we need to fully consider the historical and cultural background of the cultural relics, and combine with VR technology to create creative and interactive experience projects. This can not only enhance the audience's sense of participation and desire to explore, but also contribute to the protection and inheritance of cultural relics.Through VR technology, we can make cultural relics "alive" and present a wonderful journey of a museum beyond time and space. This innovative design has opened up a new path for the future development of the museum, and has also injected new vitality into the inheritance of China's excellent traditional culture.
