This study aims to analyze and study the impact of smartphone applications on people with visual impairment. To collect data, Google Scholar was used as a scientific database for relevant journals. Several keywords were used, such as “impact of smartphone applications,” “smartphone applications challenges,” and “visual impairments.” The study examined references published between the years 2019–2023. This method facilitated a comprehensive examination of the impact of smartphones on people with visual impairment based on the study of various recent and relevant academic sources. Finally, the result was a positive impact of smartphone applications on people with visual impairment. In terms of developing their independence and increasing their ability to learn and communicate with others, despite this, there are some challenges that they may face during use, such as the appearance of sudden advertisements and many websites and mobile applications that demand visual interaction that screen readers do not support.
