The existence of pedestrian paths in urban space, plays an important role as a liaison between buildings and public spaces which needed to support various activities of city residents.Although pedestrian paths have been built by the government in several parts of the city, pedestrian lane users in Banda Aceh city have not shown a significant increase in the number of pedestrians, even seem to be less interested in using pedestrian paths. This low interest can be caused by the non-optimal application of comfort and connectedness aspects in pedestrian path planning. For this reason, this study aims to find out community perceptions regarding aspects of comfort and connectedness in planning pedestrian paths from several locations in the central area of Banda Aceh City, so the solutions can be found to maximize the use of pedestrian paths. This study uses a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through direct observation and interviews with several city residents who use pedestrian paths. The results obtained in this study indicate that there are several sections of the pedestrian path that are uncomfortable to pass because of their damaged and unmaintained conditions.Likewise, in terms of connectivity, there are still several pedestrian paths that are not equipped with connecting facilities so that it is difficult to use them to reach the locations expected by pedestrian users safely.
