Eksplorasi Teknik Shibori Dalam Pengembangan Motif Geometrik Pada Kain Sandang

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui bagaimana pengembangan motif geometrik yang di dapat dalam penggunaan teknik shibori,dan menemukan kendala-kendala. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Studio batik Pendidikan Seni Rupa Universitas Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimentasi yang dijabarkan secara deskriptif kualitatif dengan melakukan observasi dan studi pustaka terleih dahulu untuk mendapatkan potensi dari teknik shibori. Hasil penelitian ini adalah menciptakan berbagai macam teknik dalam shibori dalam menghasilkan motif geometrik yang akan digunakan pada bahan sandang yang dapat dilihat dari perpaduan motif, penerapan warna, peletakan motif, keserasian motif dengan kategori sangat baik dan terdapat potensi untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan dimodifikasikan dengan berbagai teknik tekstil. Kata Kunci: geometrik, shibori. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to find out how the development of geometric motifs can be done in the use of the shibori technique, and to find constraints. The research was carried out at the Batik Studio of Fine Arts Education, Tamansiswa Bachelor of Wiyata University. The method of this research is experimentation, which completes descriptively qualitatively by first observing and studying the literature to get the potential of the shibori technique.The result of this research is to create various kinds of techniques in shibori in producing geometric motifs that will be used in clothing materials which can be seen from the combination of motifs, the application of colors, the placement of motifs, the harmony of motifs in the very good category and there is potential for further development with modifications with various textile engineering. keyword: geometric, shibori
