This chapter writes in the tensions between endings and beginnings associated with cultural geography's engagement with theory, especially more-than-representational theories. Holding onto the difference between Non-Representational Theory in the singular and non-representational theories as a dynamic field of promises and provocations, it charts the multiple routes and potential futures of ever-changing and still vital non-representational theories. As the chapter shows, the becoming habitual of non-representational theories has constituted a change in the versions of culture around which cultural geography is organized, and emerging tensions around culture as “mediated experience” go to the heart of the conundrum of what cultural geography is and might do in relation to today's challenges.
