Efficient inventory management is crucial for sustaining the stability and profitability of supply chains, especially amid globalized markets and fast technological progress. Conventional inventory management techniques, while efficient in stable environments, fail in addressing the unpredictability of contemporary supply chains, characterized by demand fluctuation, seasonality, and frequent interruptions. The incorporation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into demand forecasting offers a viable answer to these difficulties. AI-driven models, using techniques like as machine learning, deep learning, hybrid approaches, and reinforcement learning, significantly enhance conventional methods by delivering more precise, dynamic, and responsive demand projections. These models can evaluate intricate data patterns, adjust to real-time changes, and respond to market swings, leading to optimum inventory levels, diminished holding costs, and fewer stockouts. Machine learning models such as Decision Trees, Random Forests, and Gradient Boosting may evaluate extensive datasets, discerning patterns to forecast future demand based on economic indicators, sales trends, and other variables. Deep learning models, like Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, are especially proficient in time-series forecasting, since they effectively capture sequential dependencies essential for industries with cyclical demand. Hybrid models, integrating AI with statistical techniques such as ARIMA, improve prediction precision by capturing both linear trends and non-linear patterns within the data. Reinforcement learning models are essential for continually refining inventory techniques via real-time feedback, hence assisting in the maintenance of appropriate stock levels. The incorporation of AI-powered demand forecasting into Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and inventory management software automates stock replenishment and facilitates the study of real-time data from many sources, enhancing supply chain responsiveness. Nonetheless, despite the benefits of AI-driven forecasting, other obstacles must be confronted, including guaranteeing data quality and accessibility, handling the substantial computing demands of intricate models, and enhancing the openness of AI models, especially in regulated sectors. Addressing these problems will be essential for the extensive use of AI-driven solutions in inventory management. This papers examines the capacity of AI-driven demand forecasting to enhance inventory management, augment supply chain responsiveness, and decrease costs. The document offers an extensive examination of several AI methodologies, including machine learning, deep learning, hybrid strategies, and reinforcement learning, while evaluating their influence on forecasting precision and supply chain efficacy.
