This chapter comprises a reflective dialogue between Maureen O'Hara and Keith Tudor on four of Maureen's papers on humanistic psychology (which form the preceding Chapters 6–9). Their dialogue encompasses what Keith refers to as Maureen's ‘consistent critical perspective’ in and towards humanistic psychology; her feminism; the autobiographical nature of theory; her deconstruction of concepts (such as ‘self’, ‘autonomy’, and ‘individual’); local knowledge and local truths; alternatives to humanistic individualism; and emancipatory therapeutic practice.
