In 2023, the American Psychological Association’s Committee on Women in Psychology (CWP) celebrated its 50th Anniversary. CWP has been an ardent advocate for diverse women and gender groups and issues relevant to these groups since it was formed in 1973. This Special Issue in Women & Therapy commemorates CWP’s 50th Anniversary as an entity for advocacy and change in the field of psychology. In this introduction to the Special Issue, we provide readers with a brief herstory of CWP and identify contemporary issues facing women and diverse gender groups that CWP is addressing. We conclude by highlighting the five papers that comprise this Special Issue that demonstrate some of the key outcomes of CWP’s efforts over the years in feminist leadership and organizational change, research, practice, and community involvement.
