As a discipline where hands-on experience is particularly vital, hospitality higher education frequently employs experiential learning methods. Despite numerous studies highlighting the positive impact of experiential learning on students outcomes, limited attention has been given to understanding its effects from students’ perspectives. This single-case study explores hospitality students’ perceptions of experiential learning within the context of a job shadowing program. The study identifies the key elements students consider important, their perceived benefits, and how such programs influence their academic and professional growth. This study provides valuable insights for designing experiential learning initiatives that are more responsive to students’ needs and that enhance their overall educational experience in the field of hospitality.
