This technical paper discusses sustainable banking, particularly in the context of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) integration and green finance. It considers how ESG criteria are strategically applied in financial institutions and the extent to which Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)technology can be used to improve risk management and compliance and maintain strong stakeholder relations. ESG integration is a new paradigm to assess investment risks and opportunities that integrate financial activities with sustainability goals. Green finance measures, such as green bonds and sustainable lending, are also highlighted as key tools to direct capital towards green projects. These projects are designed to cut carbon emissions, foster renewable power generation, and encourage sustainable economic growth. The abstract also discusses the obstacles to standardizing ESG measures and the financial trade-offs and gains linked to sustainable banking. It also emphasizes transparency and accountability promoted through regulation and joined-up industry action. The assessment of these tasks shows that while there are many challenges, sustainable banking is imperative if financial systems are to be brought in line with global sustainability goals and if long-term economic resilience is to be promoted.
