This chapter examines the different levels of the motor hierarchy within the same stimulus using a recently developed one-back paradigm for inducing repetition suppression in response to observed actions in functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). The result reveals suppression for repeated goals compared to novel goals in the anterior intraparietal sulcus, cerebellum, and basal ganglia. Suppression for repeated grasps compared to novel grasps was found in the lateral occipital cortex (LOC), middle intraparietal sulcus, and inferior frontal gyrus (IFG).
