Abstract

This digest provides senior transit managers with an easy-to-read summary of the contents of and tools in TCRP Report 88: A Guidebook for Developing a Transit Performance-Measurement System. The guidebook provides a step-by-step process for developing a performance-measurement program that includes both traditional and nontraditional performance indicators that address customer-oriented and community issues. The contents of this digest are as follows: Background; Measuring Performance; Case Study Highlights; Developing a Performance-Measurement Program; Performance-Measurement Tools; Applying the Guidebook; Additional Resources; and References.
