Drawing on his interdominational background of actor, priest, counsellor and dramatherapist, the author examines the connections between dramatherapy and the spiritual dimension of life. While noting that dramatherapy is not attached to any specific religion and that some approaches to psychotherapy are overtly non-religious, the author finds subliminal points of contact both in moments of encounter and in methods of communication. He suggests that these contacts are both direct - with dramatherapy providing the framework for a potentially endless succession of images - and indirect, through the arousing of imagination. This book draws together philosophy, history, spiritualism and practical experience of dramatherapy work.
