Her discussion of purely administrative and organizational matters is comprehensive - one that recognizes client need as motivating organizational possibilities. She translates theory before organizations meet children's needs, children's librarians must recognize them into practice. As a management tool, the text falls into four major areas; organizational patterns, design of services, collection development, and facilities. The treatment is broad, including such diverse topics as planning facilities, working in rural systems, and assuming responsibilities of membership in a professional association. Appendices include examples of budgeting and program forms, and annotated bibliographies of aids for selection, reference services, and programming services to special audiences.
