Radicati di Primeglio occupies a transcendental place in the history of the studies on the quipus. This author stressed the importance of a detailed description of the process of making these tools, taking into account the thickness of the rope, the direction of twisting, and the position of the knots, among other aspects. The observation made thus allowed him to postulate the concept of archives, which raises relations between the different quipus. Another of his contributions to quipology (the term he coined) is the theory of seriation, which explains a system of inscription for narrative purposes.
