Each new generation reshapes the field of HR management. Generation X questioned traditional norms, while Generation Y exposed deeper flaws within liberal capitalism, giving rise to "quiet quitting," frequent job changes, and a strong preference for remote work. Their emergence during the 2008-2012 economic crisis and the 2020-2022 pandemic widened the gap between outdated managerial models and evolving employee expectations. Today, Generation Z is entering the workforce with even greater scepticism - rejecting low wages, distrusting promises of stability, and demanding flexible, meaningful work environments. They are also leveraging AI technologies to streamline repetitive tasks and challenge traditional hierarchies. Middle management now faces a critical dilemma: how to govern a fiercely independent and distrustful generation that questions the very foundations of the capitalist system. For Gen Z, adaptability, transparency, and genuine purpose are not negotiable - they are baseline expectations. HR management must transform – or risk irrelevance.
