This chapter advances an interdisciplinary framework by examining the Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team as a critical case study in intergenerational leadership, learning, and social identity. The IEP Team inherently embodies diverse generational cohorts whose collaboration directly impacts the child's educational outcomes and equity. We argue that the success of the IEP process depends on effective intergenerational dynamics, where leadership is shared rather than positional, and where mutual learning is essential for reconciling varied professional expertise and lived experiences. The authors analyze how the generational identities of team members mediate the exchange of knowledge and power, and how the team must foreground the child's identity to achieve true individualization and equity.
