Inclusive innovation and research involves mechanisms by which marginalized consumers, users, and scholars are involved in producing innovation and research outcomes. In this special issue, we collect empirical studies that (1) shed light on the benefits of inclusion of marginalized groups in innovation and research and (2) propose renewed vocabulary, bold policies, and specific interventions to eradicate systemic biases and inequalities in innovation and research. From these contributions, we outline an agenda for future research on inclusive innovation centered on interdisciplinarity, theory building by conceiving of inclusive innovation as a mechanism, and adopting intersectional perspectives. We also reflect on the editorial journey of the initiative that was to promote inclusive scholarship in business and management. Here, we offer numerous recommendations for transformation to a more inclusive management scholarship, including those to create welcoming spaces for epistemologically diverse and geographically dispersed scholarship, and we outline development paths for inclusion.
