This report documents the alternative transportation system needs in lands managed by the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bureau of Land Management. The report includes a summary of alternative transportation system needs and estimated costs between 2001 and 2020. The alternative transportation system needs are categorized by agency, State, transit mode, system status and type of expenditure. The report describes issues that can be addressed through transit implementation and the potential economic impacts of these transit systems. The report also identifies several Federal program structure options that could provide the Federal land management agencies with a source of funding to assist in implementing transit systems on Federal lands.
