Abstract

In this conversation on education, Van Dyk considers that teaching Christianly may well be the hardest job in the universe. Everything learned in the teacher education program has to be relearned in the day-to-day practice of teaching children. All the courses on philosophy of education, classroom management, child development, learning theories, and lesson planning take on new and urgent meaning. Suddenly, it becomes very clear that there is still so much more to learn.
