Abstract

Research on information-related behavior and needs for technical information has been growing rapidly in the field of research and development (R & D). With the fantastic growth in numbers of scientific and technical publications and the sheer volume of material entering the literature and internal laboratory files each year, a state of crisis has existed for some years in certain technical fields and in many “information” organizations.
