El discurso institucional en tiempos de crisis: análisis del Mensaje de Navidad de Su Majestad el Rey

Abstract

This article analyses the Christmas Day Speech (December 25, 2012) of the King Juan Carlos I of Spain, a particularly difficult speech due to the social and monarchical crisis context. We study the different speech strategies used by the Royal House, and propose the hypothesis that the main goal of that speech was to rebuild the King’s ethos and help to solidify the monarchic institution and the socio-political status quo.; En el presente artículo se analiza el discurso del día de Navidad del año 2012 del monarca Juan Carlos I, un discurso institucional especialmente complicado puesto que tuvo lugar en un contexto de crisis social y de la propia institución monárquica. Para ello se utilizan planteamientos metodológicos propios del análisis del discurso en su acepción más amplia, estudiando las estrategias discursivas utilizadas por la Casa Real. La hipótesis es que el objetivo fundamental del discurso es reconstruir el ethos del rey y contribuir a consolidar la institución monárquica y el statu quo socio-político.; Artikulu honetan, 2012. urteko Juan Carlos I erregearen eguberriko hitzaldia aztertzen da.Mintzaldi bereziki konplikatua izan zen, gizartearen eta instituzio monarkiko beraren krisiaren kontestuan eman baitzen. Diskurtsoaren analisiari dagozkien planteamendu metodologikoak erabili dira, bere adiera zabalenean, Errege-etxearen diskurtso estrategiak ikertuz. Hipotesiaren arabera, diskurtsoaren helburua erregearen “ethos”-a berreraikitzea eta instituzio monarkiko eta statu-quo sozio-politikoa sendotzea da.
