Abstract

The accuracy of citations in medical fields has been stud ied. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of one hundred citations in library science journals. Ten references were randomly selected from the first 1991 issue of each of ten library science journals. Almost all were verified in the original source. The rest were verified through the use of indexes and photocopies of the originals. Only one article could not be verified. Seventy percent of the citations were verified as being correct.
