Women's Entrepreneurship

Abstract

Abstract The growing rate of ventures being started by women and the increased proportion of the small business population accounted for by women are highlighted. Questions are raised as to why this growth has not been accompanied by a parallel increase in scholarly work on women entrepreneurs. Some of th key findings regarding women as entrepreneurs are summarized. Reasons for the lack of attention to important scholarly questions surrounding women's entrepreneurship are identified and explored. A number of key research questions are highlighted.
