Abstract

„(...) Bourdieu’s framework offers a particularly balanced and multifaceted approach to action. Although his work is just beginning to influence organization theory (...), much of it dovetails with and may contribute to a broadening and deepening of the institutional tradition.“ Paul J. DiMaggio und Walter W. Powell (1991a: 26) Die im Eingangszitat von DiMaggio und Powell schon zu Beginn der neunziger Jahre in Aussicht gestellte Beeinflussung der Organisationstheorie durch Pierre Bourdieu ist bis heute ohne größere Folgen geblieben und auch der vermutete Beitrag zur Ausweitung und Vertiefung der institutionalistischen Tradition lässt noch immer auf sich warten. Die „Theorie der Praxis“ (vgl. Bourdieu 1976, 1987) spielt bislang in der Organisationssoziologie keine relevante Rolle und eine systematische Rezeption hat nach unserem Wissen noch nicht stattgefunden.1
