ERP Systems Implementation and Impact Information Technology Governance and Strategy Educational Innovations and Challenges

Abstract

20 U niversities often spend in excess of $20 million each to implement modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) projects that can take two, three, or more years to implement. The early report cards coming in from across the country on ERP projects in higher education show mixed results. In this article we share our experiences and lessons learned on ERP as chief information officers of large universities. Specifically, we provide a framework for approaching an ERP that could save your university millions of dollars.
