Bu çalışmada sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının eğitimlerinde gezi gözlem metodunun yeri ve önemi araştırılmıştır. Bu amaçla öğrencilere bir anket uygulanmıştır ve veriler SPSS 16 programında çözümlenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre gezi gözlem metodunun sosyal bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının eğitimlerinde coğrafya konularını anlamayı kolaylaştıran bir etken olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca bu yöntemin öğrencilerin sosyal bilgiler eğitimi içerisinde yer alan coğrafya derslerindeki başarısını arttırmada önemli bir rol oynadığı tespit edilmiştir.
