The Hand Movements subtest from the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children was administered to adult patients as part of a full neuropsychological assessment. Two current assessment groups included patients who were medical referrals with radiographically verified brain lesions but without a legal or worker's compensation claim (n = 25), and a second group referred for evaluation as part of a lawsuit or worker's compensation claim (n = 21), but generally without known brain damage. Data for adult normals on the measure was taken from an earlier study (Barry & Riley, 1987). Demographic data between groups was not significant. Results of Hand Movements scores yielded significant differences between groups, with litigation-compensation subjects much more impaired as compared to patients and normals. The excellent normative data and utility of this measure is discussed.
