Information Behaviour of University Students

Abstract

This work presents the preliminary results of an information behaviour study of students in two\nSpanish universities. A qualitative methodology was adopted and the results analysed following the grounded\ntheory. The results were classified according to the reasons that motivated the information seeking behaviour,\nthe means used for their resolution and the results of the search process. The use of a qualitative perspective\nallowed us to obtain a general picture of university students’ information problems. Future lines of research\nare determined, and the results include a future research agenda
