June 01 2012 Under Imperial Eyes, Black Bodies, Buttocks, and Breasts: British Colonial Photography and Asante "Fetish Girls" Rachel Ama Asaa Engmann Rachel Ama Asaa Engmann PhD candidate in the Anthropology Department and Archaeology Center at Stanford University. She received her Master's degree in Museum Anthropology and Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, both from Columbia University. Her dissertation research focuses on nineteenth century Islamic talismans in Asante, Ghana.
