Determination of critical factors on employee satisfaction - a case study on a financial institute

Abstract

Human Resource in the organization needs more attention with comparison of other resources. Hardware equipments in the organization can be maintained by special and static system but human resources need completely dynamic systems, so determination of some critical factors for employee's satisfaction can help organizations to care employees. In this research that has been done in an Iranian financial institute, to collect the information about employee satisfaction, we interviewed of employees in all units of institute and also we used an initial questionnaire. It is worth to mention that in this research we had two stages to get data and information of employees. At the first stage, their needs and general opinions about their job and organization was collected by initial questionnaire and interview. And at the second stage based on results of last stage and also literature review and mentioned indices, main questionnaire was designed with 50 variables (main questions) and some general questions. This paper also gives an approach to identify critical factors in employee satisfaction with a quantitative criteria( i C ) of employee satisfaction based on their opinion about each factor status ( ij S ) and its preference ( ij W ). Such approach has been implemented in all branches of mentioned institute and the results of employees' satisfaction and also critical factors have been analyzed. Computed critical value for all questions were between 1.015 and 3.067 for selected institute. By proposed approach, the manager of the organization can make proper decision making according the results of critical factors in employee satisfaction or rank them for planning to improve each factor and finally it can lead to more employee satisfaction.
