This work intends to show the slow shift that the ethical dimension in psychology has been undergoing: from the philosophical reflection - always present ¿ to a largely deontological perspective. This situation is analyzed within the framework of the growing formalization of psychology as a profession, and its consequent regulatory deontological codes, in particular from the origin of psychology undergraduate programs in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century, and after the Second World War in Europe and Latin America. Finally, the ethical dimension to psychology in Argentina is examined including its consolidation from the deontological aspects in relation to professionalization processes.
