Development Ethics — An Emergent Field?

Abstract

‘Development ethics’ is attracting increasing attention. An association has existed since 1984 which now uses the acronym IDEA (International Development Ethics Association). Already fairly well established in the Americas, it is extending more widely. IDEA’s president recently published a survey article in ‘World Development’ (Crocker, 1991a), citing a notable number of relevant publications. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
