Abstract It is argued that if one is going to be a realist about tense, then one should be a nonstandard realist in preference to a standard realist; rather than taking the present time to be privileged, one should take the contents of all times to be equally real. It is also argued that if one is going to be a nonstandard realist about tense, then one should be a fragmentalist rather than a relativist; rather than holding reality to be relative to a time, one should take it to be fragmented, not ‘of a piece’.
