On the basis of a famous judicial American case from the Great Depression era, this paper conducts an historical analysis of the evolution of the collective bargaining model, specially after the Second World War. It explains the two models of collective bargaining which were developed in the USA and in the UK, and how the UK model was dying in this country whereas it was consolidated in the EU, and was being known as the European model o collective bargaining. The objective of this study is to alert of the extension and imposing of the American model thanks to the free trade agreements that the USA is signing and, in particular, the TTIP between the EEUU and the EU, which despite of the introduction of a labour chapter and the nominal respect for the ILO Fundamental Conventions, will lead to a subordination of the labour rights to the corporative interests of the USA and the Americam model of labour relations becoming a paradigm of dereguation also in Europe.
