Abstract

T he aims of this research is to investigate and explain T he Effect of Career Development and Job Promotion Against the S pirit of T he W ork ( S tudy on the Regional Water C ompany employees of Malang City ) . T he research method was conducted by explanatory research . T he participants of this research are employee of PDAM Kota Malang . The total sample is 80 respondents. The sampling technique was proportional random sampling and questionare was used for collecting data. Analysis of the data in this research was using descriptive qualitative method . Results showed that career development variables partially have significant effects against employee spirit of the work. The variable j ob promotion partially also has significant influence towards the employee s pirit of t he w ork. Variables for c areer development and j ob promotion has significant influence simultaneously against the employee Spirit of The Work. Keywords: C areer D evelopment , J ob P romotion , Spirit of The Work ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki dan menjelaskan efek Pengembangan Karir dan Promosi Jabatan terhadap Semangat Kerja (Studi pada Karyawan Perusahaan Daerah Air Kota Malang). Metode penelitian dilaksanakan oleh explanatory research . Peserta dari penelitian ini adalah karyawan PDAM Kota Malang. Jumlah sampel adalah 80 responden. Teknik sampel adalah proportional random sampling dan kuisioner digunakan untuk pengumpulan data. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel pengembangan karir secara parsial memiliki efek yang signifikan terhadap semangat kerja karyawan. Variabel promosi jabatan secara parsial juga memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap semangat kerja karyawan. Variabel untuk pengembangan karir dan promosi jabatan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan secara simultan terhadap semangat kerja karyawan.
