Abstract

Gender segregation in work (sometimes discussed as sex segregation in work) has been studied from a variety of foci. Foci include micro, meso, and macro levels. All of these levels have different components that perpetuate gender segregation in work. Many influential works expanded during the second‐wave feminist movement to provide researchers the foundation for understanding gender segregation in work currently and for the future.
