Literacy after the early years: A longitudinal study

Abstract

As an educational community we know relatively little about the everyday school lives of primary school-aged children attending schools in low socioeconomic communities, about the literacies they are taught, those they engage with, and those they takeup and use as their own. This article reports on a school-based research study that aimed to contribute new knowledge in this area.
