Abstract Chapter 7 deals with the phenomena of acculturation in Asia Minor and Anatolia at the end of the Classical period and, above all, during the Hellenistic period. The aim is to study the forms of cultural and material expression of regional identities in a context marked by both the Greco-Macedonian conquest and powerful regional identities. The question of violence and conflict is an important part of this study. It appears that the affirmation of otherness through the staging of violence was above all a tool of the Greek-Macedonians much more than of other populations. And when regional identities were gradually expressed, in Lycia for example, it was at the price of abandoning a certain form of ethnicity.
