Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to know that the attitude of museum visitors towards the application of modern information technology in museums is mostly positive through one-to-one and semi-structured interviews. And all interviewees think that applying modern information technology to museums can improve visitors' experience and effectively transfer the cultural knowledge behind cultural relics. Moreover, it can also help to better publicize museum culture and protect the safety of cultural relics to the maximum extent. Design/methodology/approach: This qualitative research will collect data through one-to-one and semi-structured interviews with visitors respectively (Table1). For more detail, this report will conduct the interviews through social media like WeChat, ZOOM, and so on. It is worth mentioning that the target people of the research are the visitors and the people who work in the museums. What's more, the people who receive the questionnaires would also get materials about modern information technology. To analyze the data, this study will try to find out the feasibility of modern information technology in the museum from the visitors' perspective and figure out whether the technology will improve the experiences of the visitors. Originality/value: With information technology having a high-speed development and popularity, there are more and more scenarios applying virtual display technology and digital technology. As a museum responsible for cultural relics exhibition and cultural transmission in urban construction, digitizing display is a robust approach to the museum's concept. Moreover, mainland China has put forward digital development goals in the "14th Five-Year Plan" proposal, aiming to improve the level of intelligence in various industries and fields through digital upgrading, which also provides a good policy environment for museums applying modern information technology. In other words, this study is novel and up to date, and it deserves to do research. Furthermore, because of the Covid19 pandemic, the digitizing display would also provide an approach for us to visit the museum online.
