This study explores the evolving landscape of digital payment adoption through bibliometric analysis and a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to identify research patterns, themes, and gaps. Using the PRISMA framework, data from Scopus and Web of Science (2003–April 2024) were analyzed, incorporating 1,052 studies for bibliometric analysis and 57 for SLR. The study employs the antecedents, decision, and outcome (ADO) framework to structure insights, revealing a significant surge in digital payment research, particularly post-2018. Key thematic clusters encompass psychological factors, theoretical models, payment technologies, and e-commerce/user experience, with the thematic map providing a strategic perspective for future research. The findings highlight critical adoption drivers such as ease of use, usefulness, and trust, alongside barriers like perceived risk and security concerns. This research uniquely contributes by proposing an integrated conceptual framework for digital payment adoption using the ADO framework. By combining recent data analysis with both SLR and bibliometric analysis, it offers valuable insights for advancing digital finance and supporting economic digital transformation.
