Employee labour relations (ELR) is an important HRM practice that establishes an equitable, peaceful, and productive working environment. The fourth industrial revolution (4IR) presents technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things, Big Data, Cloud Computing, Blockchain, etc., that have transformed people management practices. This chapter explores the application of 4IR technologies to Employee labour relations procedures and practices. The chapter examined the traditional ELR practices, which in their original form were primarily completed through manual processes, paper-based systems, and interpersonal interactions. This chapter discusses the application of 4IR technologies with ELR issues such as grievance procedures, safe working conditions, fair compensation, occupational health and safety, labour law compliance and employee misconduct. The chapter concludes that the application of 4IR technologies has transformed labour relation practices, thereby improving workplace safety, efficiency, and compliance. The chapter recommends continuing adaptation of policies, procedures, and organizational cultures to maximize the benefits while mitigating potential challenges.
