Abstract

In this paper we will begin by indicating the significance for scheme appraisal of allowing for generated traffic. We will then explore the nature of traveller response in greater detail. Having established the potential dimensions of response we will then review existing evidence as to the amount of such traffic and indicate some of the difficulties that beset any attempt to measure the effects. We will conclude by discussing survey strategies that might be adopted
