Abstract

Reviews the use of statistics in art conservation research. Examines how statistical analysis have been handled in published conservation research studies and suggest alternative approaches. Evaluates all the components of data analysis experimental design, data organization, statistical techniques. Contents: statistical analysis and art conservation research; composition of art materials and objects deterioration studies; conservation treatments and materials; a statistical survey of conservation papers (i.e. Publications).
