This chapter examines the role of executive functions and emotion regulation as core mechanisms underlying cognitive, academic, and socioemotional development in childhood. It focuses on how disruptions in these processes contribute to functional difficulties across neurodevelopmental conditions. The chapter synthesizes evidence from developmental neuroscience, psychology, and clinical research to highlight shared and disorder-specific profiles of executive and emotional regulation challenges. In addition, it reviews recent advances in digital assessment and intervention, including virtual reality environments, serious games, wearable and sensor-based technologies, artificial intelligence–driven analytics, and telehealth applications. Emphasis is placed on how these tools support early identificationand individualized intervention planning. By integrating neuroscience-informed models with emerging technological innovations, this chapter underscores the potential for more accessible and personalized educational and clinical practices for children with neurodevelopmental conditions.
