This paper attempts to relate three anthropological arguments about kinship. They all concern the problem of how to bypass our cosmology of nature and culture when describing the very province of human experience on which this dualism is supposed to be ultimately grounded. Of the three arguments that follow, the first has to do with the possibility of imagining a relation between kinship and bodiliness irreducible to biological categories, ethno- or otherwise. The second addresses the complementary problem of how to devise a non-jural conception of kinship relatedness. The third, to the contrary, advocates a partial reclaiming of that muchmaligned opposition for comparative purpose.
