Abstract

Reference librarians man the ramparts of the world's recorded knowledge each day with a single purpose in mind: assistance to the library user who wishes to tap the library's resources. These resources and the structure which houses them tend to be complex and difficult to use. Frustration upon the part of the library user low or high in magnitude often results from attempts to extract from a library what is required.
